The Pandemic Has Increased The Retirement Gender Gap

Research has shown that women receive less in Social Security benefits, accumulate 32% less in retirement savings, and have a longer average lifespan than men. Therefore, it is little surprise that women are 80% more likely than men to be impoverished after they reach the age of 65 — and COVID-19 has only made things worse.
