Most of us think about cybercrime and fraud attempts as someone else’s problem. Cybercriminals prefer “easy marks” (the elderly or people with reduced cognitive abilities, for instance), so someone who is well-educated and has all their faculties has nothing to worry about…right?
Unfortunately, that’s not always the case. As it turns out, well-educated people can be more likely to become victims of fraud for one simple reason: they believe they are too smart to ever fall for a scam, and as a result, they are less careful with their personal information.
