Webinar Recording: Understanding and Optimizing Social Security Benefits

Ensuring your nest egg endures throughout your lifetime is paramount to your retirement planning. For many investors, there are two main sources of income in retirement: personal retirement savings and Social Security benefits. A pivotal planning aspect lies in determining how and at what time to turn on these income streams: do you opt for an early Social Security claim to allow your investments more time to flourish, or do you initially rely on your savings to potentially secure a larger benefit payout in the future? What are the factors to consider when making that decision? What are the consequences?

On Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM ET, we hosted a webinar on Social Security to discuss how understanding and maximizing these complex benefits can help ensure financial stability across different stages of your life. In this discussion, Kitchie McBride, MHA, RSSA®, and Lauren O'Brien, CFP®, RICP®, CPA Senior Wealth Advisor at XML Financial Group explored:

  • How to maximize your benefits.
  • How maintaining our health is essential for managing our wealth.
  • The potential future of the Social Security system.

Watch the recording below as we navigate the complexities of Social Security and understand how your Social Security benefits relate to your overall retirement plan.
