Data Shows Older Americans Are Underestimating Their Social Security Benefits

While some seniors overestimate the amount of money they’ll get from Social Security after they retire, others have exactly the opposite problem. According to new data from the National Bureau of Economic Research, pre-retirees are underestimating their annual income from Social Security by about 11.5% of what they’ll actually receive.
