Striking workers are having their biggest impact on the economy since at least the year 2000. August alone saw 4.1 million days of lost productivity as striking workers protested their poor work environments, stagnant wages, and lackluster benefit packages. These strikes have had wide-ranging effects on American workplaces and that trend is likely to continue.
